Our condo is in Kailua, HI. (Look it up on google maps). We are on the 6th floor which makes for an awesome breeze most of the day. It is nice to walk in the door and feel like we are home. We have all of our stuff and are in the process of unpacking. The people who packed up everything in Lemoore were very creative with their packing methods. I kept finding myself searching for random things and finding them in random places. For example, paper towel holder was hidden inside the microwave, my silverware was put in two different places amongst my stuffed animals and clothes, and i we still haven't found our broom (Jeff and I concluded that they probably misunderstood and took it). The thing that irritates me the most is I had all of my school supplies, pictures, tools, etc in their own organized designated shoe boxes...and they thought it would be a better idea to bundle random things together in paper and stick them all together minus the shoe boxes...so now I have no where to put all of this stuff. I maintain a sort of organized chaos with my things and know where everything is exactly...but now I can't find anything. Frustrating. (I'm sorry I am venting). Here are some photos of the house before our stuff came. I'll post pictures of the completed rooms when I get them more organized.
This is our living room with the attached extra bedroom to the left. You can see the track in the floor where we can close the wall off when we have guests. Also you can see our "lanai" or patio as you all may know it as.

Here Jeff is modeling a view of our kitchen from the window. I can see the ocean when I do dishes! See the glass cabinets above the sink...I'm going to get pretty flowers to put up there and bring a lot of color into the room.

This is the master bedroom. This isn't the best angle but it's not very big. Our bed takes up most of the room! (I'd rather have a big bed though)
Jeff and I on our lanai.
The front of our building. You can actually see our lanai in this pic on the left 6th one up. We have these little plastic keychains with microchips called "faabs" that we have to use to open every door except our front door. I'll spare you but I call them something else which makes me laugh all of the time. If you want to know you can email me.
Besides all of that life here is starting to feel normal. We got our internet hooked up and are now connected to the world again. I'm hoping to acquire a desk soon so I can get my homework done in a designated space. I am taking an online course through Golden West College in Huntington Beach. Hopefully when the spring semester begins I will get an earlier registration date and will be able to take more classes.
Jeff is doing awesome. He works 6am-2:30pm Monday through Friday. It's cool that he gets off earlier so it feels like we have most of the day together. I just asked him if he had anything to contribute to the blog and he shrugged at me and said "I don't know." lol. He's currently cooking some pizza rolls. Exciting. He is so mellow about everything. I've been on the cranky side for a few days and he just tells me I'm being cranky and lets it go which is cool. We spend our time together during the week hanging out watching tv or playing farmville after he gets off of work. Then we usually bbq some sort of delicious meat and eat dinner. If he gets off early we like to walk down to the beach and explore. We have decided that we are going to learn how to windsurf. It seems less scary to me than actual surfing. I love to bodyboard but once the waves are more than 4 or 5 feet I get scared. Here are some pics from the past week.
We went to Honolulu to go to Costco and finally experienced the horrible traffic we've heard so much about. There are these signs on every freeway that posts a minimum and a maximum speed limit...I do believe we are all breaking the law in this photo...
This a stopsign is blue!! I want one!
This sign greets us every time we walk to the beach. It's such a different feeling here then going to the beach in California. People are allowed to bring their dogs to the beach. We even saw a dog "surfing" the other day! It was hilarious because this lady had her beagle on a surfboard attached to her as she was swimming in the bay...and the beagle was barking the whole time. Funny.
I had this flower in my hair and noticed while I was laying on the sand that it was an awesome picture.
Another weird thing about the beach in Hawaii...we are on the east side of the island so after 4pm the beach is all shady! It was a new thing for me.

After leaving the beach we discovered the shaved ice store! I had lime/pineapple. Jeff had strawberry/watermelon/orange with vanilla ice cream on the bottom. YUMMY!!!
That's pretty much it for now. I'm looking for a job and have sent my resume out to a few businesses in the area. I'm looking for something fun to do while I'm not doing homework. Keep me in your thoughts!!
