Jeff came home with a "NAM" on friday! (Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal). He has been waiting patiently for this ever since we left Lemoore. It's not something that the military tells you that you are getting until you get it. So Jeff is happy. It's the most prestigious award he has and sits first on his ribbon arrangement.

Jeff also recieved a letter of appreciation from a captain from Lemoore thanking him for his efforts in the painting of a "bird on a stick" at Hickey Park (we got married there...some of you may remember seeing the jet). And no, the captain didn't call it that in the letter lol. I guess the command this captain is from had been trying to get this jet painted for a while....but there was an owl living in it raising babies so they had to wait til they all flew the coup. =) Cute.
I started work today! Here is me in my uniform at 7:30am trying to wake up.
My coworkers are all really nice. In fact, everybody is nice...even the customers. One older guy asked me how long I had been with the restaurant because he didn't recognize me. I replied "approximately 3 and 1/2 hours." He asked me not how long I'd been there that day but how long I'd been with the restaurant. I then replied again "approximately 3 and 1/2 hours...it's my first day. He laughed at that one. I did make one rookie mistake today...I poured hot water in a womans cup instead of coffee...I didn't notice the label on the pot said hot water. I've done that before many times at the Mac Shack (Macaroni Grill). I just laughed it off and asked the lady if it being my first day was a usuable excuse. She laughed. Whenever I'm embarressed I like to make other people laugh so I get over it faster. Last week Jeff and I were at the commisary and I had to use the restroom. When I came out I walked over to where Jeff was waiting with the cart (a good 30-40 ft away) and I notice this woman about my age running at me. I'm very confused because I don't know her but I am clearly her target. Then she reaches me and pulls my skirt out of my underwear. Yes, I walked through the marine commisary with my skirt tucked in my underwear with my butt showing. Jeff helped me laugh that one off too.
Anyway,
Jeff picked me up from work and when I got home he had this surprise for me...
He is the sweetest man ever! And he got me sugar for my coffee (which I now need in order to wake up in the morning) and the pur water filters I keep forgetting to buy. Yay!
