Jeff and I have been looking foward to the USS Reagan pulling into port here ever since we moved to the island. (Jeff did three tours on the Reagan before being stationed in Kaneohe for shore duty.) With the Reagan came Jeff's bestest bud Dustin. We missed seeing it pull into Pearl Harbor but we did make in time to watch it sit for an hour before they let everyone off of it.
It was amazing to me how many people actually fit in an aircraft carrier...close to 5 or 6 thousand! I can't imagine what it must be like to live on one for up to 7 months at a time.
Here we are all reunited and happy to be in Hawaii.
Dustin's friend Kevin also came and stayed with us that night. I don't seem to have a picture of him on my camera. He spent most of the night talking to his wife on the phone...I bet she was super happy to be able to talk to him! We spent the last part of the day and sunset on the beach snorkeling and drinking some beers....then we played Rock Band for a while...
then we went and played pool the rest of the night. It was the first night for me at least that it really felt like Hawaii was home. I really hope Jeff and I make friends here soon!
I don't have any more pictures to share this week. I have to work all weekend and I start my second job at Starbucks on Monday morning. Oh yea...I got a second job at Starbucks! I'll be working with Jeff's coworker Dave's wife which is kind of funny. We will see how everything goes! Wish me luck!
