There's no place like home

Jeff and I have spent the last two weeks roaming around Southern California and we are now at home in Hawaii. We had an awesome time seeing everyone! Thank you so much to all who welcomed us into your homes and hearts while we were there. This trip would not have been a success without you and we greatly appreciate everything you have done to help us! I will be posting a few blogs in the future to cover all of our adventures.
Our flight landed at 9:30pm (12:30am CA time) and I have been going nonstop since being home. I have been working every night since without a break to even think about adjusting to the time change. By 7pm last night I was babbling incoherently and amusing my coworkers at the same time. I'm quite sure I forgot to do a few things at the end of the night. My bff Kimmy and her sister Becky have been staying with me while they wait to move into their new house this Saturday. They brought me dinner last night which pretty much saved me from falling asleep while making coffee drinks. I'm running on auto-pilot at work at this point. My next day of is Tuesday after closing Sunday night and opening Monday morning! This means I get off of work at 9:30pm and have to be there at 4:15am...a grand total of 6 and one quarter hours to wind down, sleep, wake up to get ready and be at work again. I'm not sure if this is even legal! I know in CA they make you take 8-10 hours off in-between shifts (not sure what one) but Hawaii's labor laws are different. I may have to try and wiggle my way out of this one...have any of you ever seen me when I haven't gotten enough sleep? I'm useless! It wouldn't be so bad if I had some time off to catch up on things...but I don't. Oh well.
Jeff is technically not on vacation anymore (he checked in from leave early this afternoon) but does not work until tomorrow at 1pm. Then he has the weekend off. I'm really jealous. Lucky guy. Our friend Kevin will be joining our happy family for the weekend as the USS Reagan is back in port one last time before heading back to San Diego. We only have Friday and Saturday with him this time. He will be heading back to join his wife and baby girl in LA when he gets back. I'm super excited for them!
The kitties are done being mad at me and are starting to let me pet them again. Nani really showed me how upset she was by completely ignoring me for 24 hours. She even bit me afterwards when I stopped petting her and almost broke my skin! I have a nice kitty tooth bruise on my wrist now. Kiko wasn't that upset with me and slept next to me all night and now keeps following me where ever I go. She's my little baby kitty and loves the attention she is getting. Plus she doesn't bite! yay!
I am going to end this now and go to bed...More to come!
